Here are the follow on bugs which I've filed:
3716 plan_update_all needs to take a list of packages to update
3717 More cancelation points are needed to allow gui responsiveness
3718 plan_update_all needs to have an optional argument for the new BE name
3719 Private member variables in ImageInterface should be named with __
3720 Race condition exists for cancelation using the API
I'm hoping to get fixes for 3716, 3718, 3717, and 3720 in for November
(with roughly that ordering of priority).
