A while back I tackled
4447 A corrupt(?) catalog.pkl renders pkg(5) unusable.
had a bad day, and didn't return to it because we'd only seen one instance
of it in the wild. In the past week, though, it's recurred several times,
convincing me that it might be a good idea to get it fixed for the release.
I've taken another look at it, remerged the code, and have a new webrev,
that's mostly the same as the original, but I'd like another set of eyes
on it.
