Hi all, (This is for OpenSolaris 2008.11. Yes, really).
I'm looking for a quick review of the fix for bug #5356: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=5356 High Performance Computing incorrect categorized in Package Manager Webrev is at: http://cr.opensolaris.org/~richb/pkg-5356.patch This fix adjusts the classification of three unbundled clusters from: System/High Performance Computing to Development/High Performance Computing Three packages (clustertools, clustertool_7.1 and hpc-dev) would then need to be republished to our network IPS repository. IMPORTANT NOTE. --------------- The Package Manager relies on two data files: /usr/share/package-manager/data/opensolaris.org /usr/share/package-manager/data/opensolaris.org.sections one of which has changed due to this patch. The Package Manager package is also on the Live CD. This should require a respin of the Live CD, *BUT* because we haven't changed the name of the sub-category ("High Performance Computing"), only the category it's in, then the current Package Manager should still continue to work and do the right thing without having to be republished or rebuilt. (The current design of the Package Manager ignores the category that the sub-category is in. Assuming those three packages are republished with the changes mentioned above, then if one of those three packages is selected, in the Package Manager, the package details displayed in the bottom right side of the Package Manager window will now be "Development/High Performance Computing", because they will be picked up via the new package manifest).
