Hi -
I'm going through the instructions on
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/indiana/resources/relnotes/200805/image-update/
and I'm running into some issues. I'm doing an image update from 2008.04
(Not the BTS release) to 2008.11.
According to step 2, I run:
$pfexec pkg install [EMAIL PROTECTED]
It doesn't appear to be updating the packages associated with entire. My
understanding is that this command will update a package to the latest
version within $BUILD.
What instigated this investigation was that the beadm command,
specifically activating and booting into different boot environments,
wasn't working correctly. My initial installation has
SUNWinstall-libs0.5.11,5.11-0.86:20080422T214931Z. After I run the above
command, shouldn't it be updated to the 200808 version of the package?
In other words SUNWinstall-libs0.5.11,5.11-0.86:20080820T050702Z?
If that is the case that it should be updated to 200808, then the
command isn't working correctly because I see the 200804 version of the
package on the system after I run the command.
If that isn't the case, then from what Evan told me, this page should be
updated to include in step 2, similar to SUNWipkg:
$pfexec pkg install [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Beginning with the 200808 version of SUNWinstall-libs, there is a fix
for steps 7, 8, and 9, so they aren't necessary if the package is
updated properly.
thx,
--
Ginnie
