Not yet; this is coming. It's not clear that changing variant.arch will
be made to work, though...
Right. Even other variants like a combination of debug and
non-debug packages could get complicated, I guess. And, unless this
is immediately followed by an image-update, we would probably end up
needing another interface to figure out which set of variants
a particular package has been installed with. (Not sure if that is
there already.) Seems more trouble that it is worth.

Actually, I expect debug/nondebug to work; a proper interface for
changing the variants/facets for an image would:
1) do it in an cloned image if needed
2) make the change w/o installing/updating any software.
