I can't speak for the packagemanager, but the pkg search command line
option should be searching the summary field. If it's not, please let
me know or file a bug with an example of how it's failing.
Actually, I just verified that it does actually search the description
field. Sorry for the false alarm.

The category hierarchy and the new package name hierarchy seem
to overlap a lot. Will the category UI be replaced by a dynamically
generated tree based on package name?
Has there been a discussion of having a longer description in the
packages? It seems that 'Summary' is limited to about one line.
Will there be support for tags in the distro-import package spec files?
I'd be happy to write some RFEs for some of these things, but I want
to educate
myself first about what thinking has gone on so far.
