Thanks Shawn and Padraig, looks good to me.
Tested with local file, URL on the command line, nautilus and link off
my blog. All works fine. Also the switching between Search All Repos and
Single Search is a lot faster now.

The change in packagemanager.py at line 3764 is as proposed by Shawn
Walker in bug 8532.
The other changes speed up the return from remote search by avoiding
having to sort the application list.
