Ok - this looks fine for catching the exception, but we really need to
handle User Proxy settings sensibly, which is covered by bug #1835.
J any comment on automated handling of proxy settings for the clients?
Is this something that will part of the transport layer rework or does
each client need to get the user proxy settings themselves?
