Any update on this problem? I'm seeing a similar issue when I attempt to
"pkg fix SUNWckr". I think its in fact any package I attempt to fix, but
this one is my initial target.
I am doing this in attempt to execute work around for bug#8409 -
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=8409 So that I an
installation fully up to date.
Thanks...

Unfortunately, the version of pkgrecv I used isn't on the CD, so I don't
know if that will be helpful or not.
However, you can try it:
pkgrecv -s http://pkg.opensolaris.org/release -d /tmp/directory SUNWPython
Be aware that we are currently experiencing some configuration issues on
pkg.opensolaris.org, so you may want to wait until tomorrow or much
later today (PDT) to try.
Cheers,
