packages' I don't see anything checked so cannot tell what all I'd

Do you have the "opensolaris.org" publisher selected in the list box
in the upper right corner?
No... I have dev selected
File/manage repositories also shows both dev ahd opensolaris.org
listed and has dev as preferred.
What is the output of "pkg publisher" ?

Looks like there are two instances of dev
I'm removing the one I added now... seems to be taking a while
It's possible your setup was confusing the packagemanager.
In general, you should just have the 'opensolaris.org' publisher and
point it at the /dev or /release repositories.
Let us know what the results are.
