You could put your logic into an SMF service's start method, and have your
class-action script restart that service. Liane suggested as much in the
last thread on this. While you'd still have to communicate to the
OpenSolaris distribution team (this alias, really) what files should be
tagged with what fmri, at least that's all the extra work that would have
to be done. Otherwise, you'll be in the same state you're in now, where
the file won't get upgraded at all unless it's not been modified, or you'll
have to do a bunch of OpenSolaris-specific work.
