Hi,
I tried to update zone from build 118 to build 121 (global zone
image-updated already) but it ended in unknown stage for me:
# zoneadm -z mantis halt
# zoneadm -z mantis detach
# zoneadm -z mantis attach -u
Global zone version: [email protected],5.11-0.121:20090816T234906Z
Non-Global zone version: [email protected],5.11-0.118:20090707T230302Z
Publisher Check: Looks good.
Cache: Using /var/pkg/download.
Updating non-global zone: (Stage 1). Output follows
DOWNLOAD PKGS FILES XFER (MB)
Completed 154/154 6900/6900 285.3/285.3
PHASE ACTIONS
Removal Phase 2663/2663
Install Phase 2905/2905
Update Phase 8712/8712
Updating non-global zone: (Stage 2). Output follows
Creating Plan -
pkg: The following package(s) violated constraints:
Package pkg:/[email protected],5.11-0.111 conflicts with
constraint in
installed pkg:/netbeans-incorporation:
Pkg libnb-profiler: Optional min_version: 6.5.1,5.11 max

ERROR: Could not update attaching zone
# zoneadm -z mantis boot
zoneadm: zone 'mantis': must be installed before boot.
# zoneadm -z mantis attach
Global zone version: [email protected],5.11-0.121:20090816T234906Z
Non-Global zone version: [email protected],5.11-0.121:20090816T234906Z
Evaluation: Packages in mantis are in sync with global
zone.
Attach complete.
Now I have no idea in which stage the zone is - is it done and safe or
broken somehow (probably). What does it mean "Stage 2" during zone
update? I found few bugs around "onflicts with constraint in installed"
on defect.o.o, but it did not answer my problem probably.
One nit for zone update - when using image-update in zone:
# pkg image-update
DOWNLOAD PKGS FILES XFER (MB)
Completed 177/177 12089/12089 418.0/418.0
pkg: image-update cannot be done on live image
Why does pkg in zone not complain earlier that it cannot be used in
zone?
Regards,
Milan
