Can you provide:
ls -laR /var/pkg > pkg_contents.txt
...in a file posted somewhere along with:
pkg history -l > pkg_history.txt
...in a file posted somewhere?
Something's gone wrong in the image upgrade somehow by the looks of it.
When you first restarted your build 124 system, did you immediately
attempt to run any packaging commands?
