Is there an equivalent of "installf" for IPS to add a file to the

the file can be established be searching the package database?
No. We currently have no plans to support such a mechanism.
The closest we have (vague) plans for is to allow a package to mark a
directory as exclusive, so that any content in that directory will be
removed, rather than salvaged, when the directory itself is removed.

That should be a fairly straightforward feature to add, once someone gets a
little less swamped, if it's a priority for you.

I'd put it at P3. IMO it's something that belongs in a mature packaging framework, and our product would use it if it were there. We could perhaps live with the plan you propose (vaguely :) ) as an alternative.

Although what does "removed" vs "salvaged" mean?
