Hi,
We are just aware of number of header files being installed under
/usr/include/sys/ in osol are far less than in s10 update release.
There are only around 14 header files under osol while around 600 with
s10 update after fresh installation ... This create a problem while we
compiled some test suites and generated error due to missing necessary
header files.
Anyway we can get back those missing header files from osol installation
... without actually install the related packages.
In general it seems a lot of the STC test suites seem to assume a
SUNWXCall install but things have changed. As others have pointed out a
LiveCD install doesn't have a development environment installed, it is
roughly similar to SUNWXCuser.
I've just been through this pain with the SUNWstc-fs-zfs test suite
because it assumes a bunch other packages are supposed to be there but
there aren't the proper dependencies specified for the SUNWstc-fs-zfs
package or in the wrapper script. I only found this out by trial and
error. Even if the dependencies were their it probably wouldn't have
helped as SUNWstc-fs-zfs is still a SVR4 package yet the system is
installed with IPS packages.
I think in the long run this will actually lead to better test suites
and better documentation since no longer can we "just install everything".
