I want to add that doing the image-update from a 128a BE was
successful. The image-update fails when done from a 129 BE.
In the 129 BE, I tried the following and it worked.
# beadm create foobar
# beadm mount foobar /mnt
# pkg -R /mnt uninstall entire
# pkg -R /mnt install entire
# beadm activate foobar
The above commands did the equivalent of what would have been
# pkg image-update --be-name=foobar
If I can provide any other info to determine the cause of the failure
that I get when doing an image-update, please let me know.
