I'm pretty sure that Dan's forthcoming rework of the entire test suite
addresses this issue.
CC'ing him for confirmation.

To get around having to make the symlink, the make_elf function could
be changed:
cmd = ["/usr/bin/cc", "-o", out_file]
to
cmd = ["/opt/SunStudioExpress/bin/cc", "-o", out_file]
Or, another entry in the paths dict could be added to keep all of
those kinds of entries in the same place.

Drew found that adding this before the "make test"
took care of the elf file not found errors and
eliminated the depot issues, so the test runs
clean now.
$ ln -sf /opt/SunStudioExpress/bin/cc /usr/bin/cc
We still need to do a better job of cleaning up
after test failures.

Is this a known issue?
DepotStateException: A depot (or some other network process) seems
to be
running on port 12001 already!
Here's a first run:
http://192.18.105.38/job/ips-test/5/console
Here's a second run:
http://192.18.105.38/job/ips-test/6/console
Yes. The only way around it is to manually kill all of the depot
processes still hanging around.
There should be a bug related to this already, but I can't seem to
find it at the moment.
