What problem are you seeing exactly? The package system removes old
packages that have been renamed, if no other packages depend upon them.
In trying to reproduce this issue, I wasn't able to find a good example
of a renamed package that I had installed locally, but using 'info -r'
came across a reasonable one:

$ pkg info -r SUNWmutt
          Name: SUNWmutt
       Summary:
         State: Not installed (Renamed)
    Renamed to: mail/[email protected]
                consolidation/sfw/sfw-incorporation
     Publisher: opensolaris.org
       Version: 1.5.20
 Build Release: 5.11
        Branch: 0.133
Packaging Date: Tue Feb 16 08:54:44 2010
          Size: 0.00 B
          FMRI:
pkg://opensolaris.org/[email protected],5.11-0.133:20100216T085444Z

Notice that the 4th line shows that this was renamed to mail/[email protected].
