Do be careful about doing this if you're laying down files in the middle of the OS; if you have a full image pkg thinks it's the only
one managing the filesystem, and this can raise havoc as important
svr4-packaged files will be moved into /var.

If you're working in a separate directory hierarchy, have at it.
