I so no value in abbreviating solaris as sol it saves 4 characters and
makes the package name less obvious as to what it is. Please do not
abbreviate it. This isn't the old original SVR4 package world
restricted to 9 (I think) char package names or even the updated 32 char
limit. Given developers and admins won't be typing this much (if ever)
saving those 4 chars isn't helpful.

so that "cc" will always mean an FCS compiler, and

I don't think you need that because the package namespace is
hierarchical so the fact there is the 'solstudioex' component of the
name above it in the hierarchy ensures that there is a distinction
between FCS and Express releases.
