A bit late, perhaps, but why are we eliding the no-op entries from the history, rather than removing them from the default output of "pkg history"? I would think that having the complete history would be useful for diagnosis in some cases, even if normally it's not interesting. (No need for an immediate follow-up; I'm just curious about your reasoning here.)
