I'm not sure what you're talking about -- perhaps the two places where I
set slashmap[smpos] = -1? I didn't really think of it as an end-marker,
but I suppose that's what it is. I can add a comment:
247 /*
248 * Make sure we don't think there's a
249 * slash right at the beginning.
250 */
Is there a better way of explaining it?
