This looks fine. I just have one dumb question. Do the calls to
misc.parse_uri need any exception handling, or is this caught by the
calling function?
I've been unable to find a scenario in which it raises a useful exception.
My assumption has been callers are responsible, but I don't know which
exception they should catch.
Even with the most bizarre input, I've not seen one...
