Greetings,
The following webrev contains changes for the following RFEs and bugs:
18440 pkgrepo should be able to list packages
18783 pkgrepo can traceback if output pipe is broken
18788 install target should not run pylint
Would it make sense for pkgrepo list to have a --newest flag? Seems
like then "pkgrepo list --newest" would logically replace "pkgrecv --newest".
Not necessary; '*@latest' works just as well.
Oh, cool. Is that documented anywhere? I see a mention of @latest in the
pkg(1) man page under the install, update,& list subcommands, but not a
indication that it's generally available.
'*@latest' should work anywhere package patterns are used for matching,
if it doesn't, there's a bug to be filed.
Perhaps putting a "pkg list '*@latest'" example in the man page would help
lead people there, though if it works everywhere, describing it in the
"Package FMRIs and Versions" section of pkg(5) would be good too.
For now, I'll just add it to pkgrepo(1) instead.
