And see what it does. If it looks like it's taking you to build 151a
bits, great. If it doesn't, try uninstalling all the packages from
opensolaris.org: pkg uninstall 'pkg://opensolaris.org/*'

I can try this in the test BE; it's removing a wad of stuff, and
when it's done I'll try "install [email protected]" next. I
worry that it will have lost all the system configuration by doing
that, though.

Yeah; given that everything was installed from opensolaris.org at that
point, it'll be an attempt to get rid of the entire system.

My best guess is that you want to hook yourself up to the internal
opensolaris.org repo, which has up to build 151. It's different than the
current config, though. Looks like

     http://ipkg.us.oracle.com/opensolaris/release/

should do the trick, but you might need /dev/ instead of /release/

And with that, try "pkg install [email protected]" and see what you
get.

Well, 151.0.1 didn't exist in either, but 150 did, and I made it that far. I'm going to have to boot to 150 to get further, though, it looks like, which I'll have to do tomorrow, since I don't understand console access on this machine and I don't want to risk taking it down.

After resetting the solaris publisher to preferred (on solaris11/dev), I get

# pkg install [email protected]
Creating Plan -Planning for install failed:

and I'm not sure how to access the console, so I'm going to leave this until tomorrow. that's progress, at least.
