thanks for doing this. the console messages have always really annoyed
me. ;)
No worries, I'd always been uneasy about those as well, and gww saying
that they're also spamming the audit log was the final straw. I don't
like needing to use 'all' privileges, but they're necessary in order to
keep /system/volatile as our temporary directory; the alternative of
using a known-location in /tmp would be worse imho.
also, wrt pkgfmt, yay! i remember when i suggested that the ips gate use
pkgfmt for it's manifests... that didn't go so well. ;) i'm happy to
see this finally happening.
Cool - comay mentioned that my putback of the pkg/depot service broke
pkgfmt-cleanliness of the gate, so it seemed like a good thing to fix.
