Hello, google told me that
http://zdanek.ostrejezyki.pl/2008/10/07/develop/installing-debian-on-neo1973/ already ran into this problem: Install a basic Debian system * Downloading cdebootstrap package Connecting to ftp2.de.debian.org (195.71.9.196:80) cdebootstrap.deb 100% |*******************************************************************************| 521k 00:00:00 ETA * Running cdebootstrap to install the system (might take a while) I: Can't find keyring debian-archive-keyring.gpg P: Retrieving Release P: Retrieving Release.gpg W: Couldn't validate Release! P: Parsing Release P: Retrieving Packages.gz P: Validating Packages.gz E: Couldn't validate Packages! but I am objecting to his idea that I should download the keyring manually since it has worked before and the option "--allow-unauthenticated" should prevent the error to occur. Does anybody know what is happening? Might it be because of some server (ours at Tue Mar 10 21:24:43 CET 2009) not being usable at the moment? I very much presume so since two minutes later, everything seems back to normal. I am interested to learn about your opinions on this observation. I suggest to improve the error message a bit, since in its current state, the "Couldn't validate Packages" is the only information that the user gets and this seems missleading. Many greetings Steffen _______________________________________________ pkg-fso-maint mailing list [email protected] http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-fso-maint
