as for qwo -- I just sent a question upstream... if he says 'nah' I will
reconsider again and might still patch Debian's version of qwo... I am
ok to carry that one around if I see that qwo indeed works fine with
transparency.

so far both fbdev and Xglamo showed instabilities while I played with
transparency and qwo

as for illume -- unfortunately there is yet no patch to accomplish the
mission, hence nothing for upstream to adopt. Therefore I was asking if
someone would take the burden to create a patch ;)
