Yes, eventually FSO 2.0 will all be in Vala -> C. As a matter of fact, fsotdld (Time, Date, Location Daemon) is already working, but has little support for GPS. After the drama with gpsd and gypsy, I did not decide yet how to move on with GPS, either roll an own -- this time a something that really feels like D-Bus -- API or integrate one of the existing solutions.
