Hi, First of all I want to say how ridiculous and short minded it is to deliberately break all previous versions of PlayOnLinux, without thinking at least a sec about consequences in distributions. I mean, guys, you are not in beta anymore, what would you say if all firefox versions below 6 couldn't browse anymore ? All you'll earn is poor downstream reputation and probably a fork from a user who decided he had enough of this centralized architecture.
I am currently the Debian maintainer of the playonlinux package, so I prepared a package for 4.0.12 (trying to follow the 12 new versions published without notice). It is waiting for a sponsor to enter Debian. The version installed will be <= 3.8.X. Try to install any application trough PlayOnLinux. PlayOnLinux will return the message that PlayOnLinux version 4 and under are no longer supported and will stop there. The result being that PlayOnLinux on all currently supported releases of Ubuntu are utterly useless. Packages in atleast Ubuntu 11.10 must be updated to version 4.0 and above, otherwise the shipped version will be unusable.
