Thats something that happens from time to time and can not be fixed.
If the server update introduces a feature that can only be used on newer
versions of the client, it prevents older versions from connecting.

It's not possible to launch or join an online game. There appears a
message about a newer version (0.9 ist the actual one) available and
prevents online gaming.
