Do you want people to switch to using Ubuntu or not? People don't want to have to do extra managerial things, they want the PC to do it for them. That's what Windows does and that's why it's so popular. I'd have to look up the proper process but shall I repackage it with the curl dependency and fix the problem for others? It's still a bug.
