Thanks! I have my doubts as well regarding the verbosity. My approach while testing this was that I rather wanted to much information that not enough. That said, the original command didn't print anything for file installation. It looks easy enough to add the switch in the code, but I couldn't find how those things are usually handled for modules outside debhelper itself. I'll ask the perl team, apparently that's something they did in the past.
