For me, a plain uscan --force crashes as described in #831870. This
bug is still unresolved. How do you invoke uscan to avoid this?

`uscan --verbose` should work, have you tried that?

Have you also done a build in an uptodate chroot with the lintian hook enable as documented in the team policy?
