Subject: qgis-api-doc: recommends qt5-doc-html which is not in unstable

Dear maintainer,

I see that the package qgis-api-doc (version 3.40.11+dfsg-1) recommends
qt5-doc-html which is not in unstable.

This can be seen in https://packages.debian.org/unstable/qgis-api-doc .
Search for "Package not available".

Should it be dropped or changed?

I see that https://tracker.debian.org has information on the not
available packages:

- https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/qt5-doc-html : available in o-o-stable
  and oldstable

I see that qt5-doc-html was provided by qtdoc-opensource-src. In
unstable there is: qt6-base-doc-html, qt6-location-doc-html,
qt6-declarative-doc-html and so on. Perhaps it should recommend the
relevant ones?

Thank you,

There is no pressing need to act on this, Recommends are not hard dependencies.

It will be changed to the qt6 version when qgis is switched away from qt5 after
it's updated to 4.x.

That release was just delayed to early 2026, see:
https://qgis.org/resources/roadmap/#release-schedule

Since we track the LTR branch, we'll have the Qt5 build until October 2026.

Kind Regards,

Bas
