Why? pkg-kde-symbolshelper is mostly usefull for C++ libraries.
epr-api seems to plain C so the symbols should be stable.
Also more needs to be done if you want to adopt pkg-kde-symbols helper:

you are right, sorry.
By the way I still need to finish the job with the symbol file.
Some core C structures changes their size so I need to check if there if
there are symbols for which the ABI is changed.
