Hi,
as discussed on the DebianGIS mailing list, in the wxGUI Help -> About GRASS
window the Authors, COPYING, etc. files are missing.
I believe this is because the debian grass package copies over the dirs in
$GISBASE/ that it needs, and the grass-doc package copies over the dirs
there that it needs, but nothing collects the text files left there.
suggestions:
- either symlink GPL.TXT into /usr/lib/grass/, or patch "licfile" in wxgui.py
line 1659 to look for /usr/share/common-licenses/GPL
- copy grass's COPYING file into /usr/lib/grass/ (this is a custom file, not
the generic GNU version)
- copy AUTHORS into /usr/lib/grass/
- copy all other regular files in the main dist.x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu/
build dir (CHANGES, REQUIREMENTS.html, contributors.csv, translators.csv)
to /usr/share/doc/grass/.
n.b. in grass 6.5+ the contributors.csv and translators.csv files will be
sourced from gui/wxpython/gui_modules/ghelp.py, so maybe it is worth putting
them in /usr/lib/grass/ now to avoid work later?
