The netCDF library also defines a machine-independent format for representing scientific data. Together, the interface, library, and format support the creation, access, and sharing of scientific data. This package contains the C++ shared library. The netcdf package used to contain C, C++ and Fortran libraries. The latest netcdf tarball now contains only the C library, and the C++ and Fortran libraries are released individually. As there are quite a few reverse dependencies of all three libraries, we need to package all three and do a coordinated transition.
