As reported by Oliver Eichler on the Qlandkartegt-users mailinglist:

The fix is provided in pull-request #107:

The new upstream release (1.6.3) is available too, and will be uploaded
to unstable soon, and the changes from the PR will be included as a patch
in the backport for jessie, leaving only testing users affected.
Please refrain from using qmapshack 1.6.2 if you have not used qmapshack
on that system before. The fixed package should migrate to testing 5
days after the upload to unstable.

The new upstream release has been accepted into unstable, and the fixed
backport has been accepted into jessie-backports.
