How active are upstreams? I took a short look and it seems that both
projects havent seen changes since a while. If upstream is actively
supporting their software its okay to include it. If not the burden to
fix upstream bugs falls onto the shoulders of Debian maintainer. Problem
is that we have already too much packages where upstream is not really
active anymore. If we need shij and/or xmlpull as dependency for another
package we need to include them anyway.

Cheers,
Michael
