I too, would be very happy to have a tomcat6 package in Debian!
T6 is in production since several months, and mandatory for some modern
standard toolkits like JSF 1.2.

The current tomcat6 package just provides libservlet2.5, and a full
Tomcat 6.0 server stack would be nice to have for all Java users in
Debian.
I was really surprised that the creation of a tomcat6-package was issued in
March 2007 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=413906) and
the package database still contains only a source package
"libservlet2.5-java".
I'm not very familar with the whole process of adding new packages to the
repository, but I would be very happy to see a tomcat6-package that is as
easy to install as the previous versions (tomcat5, tomcat 5.5, and so on)
within the next weeks - at least in an unstable or testing version.
