Package: sun-java6-jre Version: 6.24-1~squeeze1 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
sun-java6-jre fails to install on my ia64 machine because of broken dependencies. The architecture-dependent files for the Sun JRE don't seem to be packaged. I don't know very much about Java development, but I found in Oracle's web page an ia64-specific installer: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u26-download-400750.html Maybe it's not what is needed here, but if it is, it should be packaged in order for sun-java6-jre to be installable. Otherwise, if sun-java6-bin is missing because the ia64 binaries have not been released, then the package sun-java6-jre should be deleted from the repository, as it cannot be installed. -- System Information: Debian Release: 6.0.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: ia64 Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-mckinley (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash __ This is the maintainer address of Debian's Java team <http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-java-maintainers>.
