Hi,
I had a similar issue - no JDT at all. Did a reinstall, clean
preferences, removed 3rd party plug-ins - nothing helped.
Then, I looked in the log and found a message that said eclipse couldn't
find jasper-5.5.26.jar (or something like that). I then rolled back
libjasper-java to version 5.5.26-5 and lo and behold - everything was
fine.
I'm not sure which package to blame though eclipse-jdt or
libjasper-java.
