I encountered this problem too. It seems to be a problem with my workspace, because if I rename the workspace directory, Eclipse starts without problems (and creates a new empty workspace).

If I start Eclipse with the options "-consoleLog" and "-debug", I get some exception messages:

!MESSAGE Perspective Java has been made into a local copy
----------

I looked for information about the CompilationUnitEditor exception, and found a Red Hat bug page that may be relevant:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=773132

However, that bug says it's a problem with the ~/.eclipse directory, and I'm able to start Eclipse with my existing ~/.eclipse directory as long as I don't try to use my existing workspace.
