Package: maven-debian-helper Version: 1.5.1 Severity: normal Quoting from the comments at the top of /usr/bin/mvn-debian itself, it is "an example script" and "[p]roduction use is not supported by the maintainer of maven-debian-helper". It may make some sense to provide such a script as an example in /usr/share/doc/<package>/examples -- but not in the user's $PATH.
An obvious alternative might be to remove the wrapper script's limitations so the notices in the manpage and the script itself become unnecessary.
