I think it happened to me because uscan had redownloaded all *.orig-*.tar.gz files on behalf of gbp buildpackage .. Each time gbp buildpackage is launched, and those files are not present on the parent dir, they are redownloaded and can be different. I did two new tests and I got node-yarnpkg_1.13.0.orig-npm-logical-tree.tar.gz with 4835 and 4838 bytes (not 4834 of my failed upload but also not 4837 as the previous uploader. Before gbp buildpackage I should have used these commands in the source tree: rm ../*.orig-*.tar.gz gbp export-orig to clean up the parent dir and restore the *.orig-*.tar.gz files as were sent by the original uploader. That, or: dget http://deb.debian.org/debian/pool/main/n/node-yarnpkg/node-yarnpkg_1.13.0-1.dsc but I find gbp export-orig easier.
