We have entered stage 2 of the freeze: Library transitions are frozen.

We should generally slow down on code changes, but we should balance 
that against what code we can defend to maintain in stable for several 
years.

This kind of change seems reasonably for me to do: The existing code 
might be buggy, or a future security release might silently become buggy 
when minified - which I consider worse than a careful switch to a 
maintained compressor (or set of compressors).
