Package: node-is-reference
Version: 1.2.1-8
Severity: normal
Control: affects -1 rollup
Rollup bundles is-reference to decide whether an identifier is a variable
reference. Upstream rollup requires is-reference ^3 (rollup 3.30 and 4.x).
Debian ships 1.2.1, which predates the ESTree name PropertyDefinition for
class fields. In "class Main { a = 1 }" it takes the field name "a" for a
read of a global variable, so rollup keeps unused classes with fields
instead of removing them.
Rollup's test form/samples/decorator-tree-shaking shows it: upstream rollup
removes the unused class, Debian's rollup (3.30.0-6, and 4.63.3 built
against 1.2.1) keeps it.
3.x is an ES module only, and node-rollup-plugin-commonjs loads it with
require(), so the update needs a CommonJS entry point. I will send a merge
request on salsa for this bug.
