A quick test [1] with the jQuery migrate plugin gave the following result: Error: Bootstrap's JavaScript requires jQuery version 1.9.1 or higher, but lower than version 3 but according to [2] bootstrap will support jQuery3 not earlier than with version 4, which is still alpha. So I am wondering how we can get a stable bootstrap release into Debian before the freeze. Could you give me some insight?
