Dear Maintainers,
The file preview generation feature doesn't work on buster under GNOME (tested
on a fresh install of Debian 10.0 with gnome-core (1:3.30+1) and tellico
(3.1.4-1+b2)) but was working on stretch under GNOME (tested on a fresh install
of Debian 9.9 with gnome-core (1:3.22+3) and tellico (2.3.9+dfsg.1-1.1+b1)).
Indeed, when the "Generate file previews" option is selected after "File >
Import > Import File Listing", the following error is printed in stderr:
kf5.kservice.services: KServiceTypeTrader: serviceType "ThumbCreator" not
found.
This problem can be fixed by installing the kio-extras package which provides
(via kde-extras-data) /usr/share/kservicetypes5/thumbcreator.desktop along with
some thumbnailers.
This dependency wasn't required with Tellico 2 as it relied on the KDE4
platform, with the kde-runtime package providing (via kde-runtime-data)
/usr/share/kde4/servicetypes/thumbcreator.desktop, whereas Tellico 3 relies on
KDE Frameworks 5 platform.
PS: This problem may not be fully considered as a bug, as it is stated in
https://docs.kde.org/stable5/en/extragear-
office/tellico/importing.html#importing-file-listing
that "The file previews are same as those shown in the KDE file manager", which
may imply that this feature will not work if no KDE file manager is installed.
